JellyTank Floats Successful Kickstarter Crowdfunding Campaign, Secures Pre-Orders of $188,828 and Moves Sales to Indiegogo InDemand

26 May

JellyTank, the ultimate desktop jellyfish aquarium, pre-order sales exceed $188k on Kickstarter and moves sales to Indiegogo’s InDemand with full production of the tanks well underway

By Robert Hoskins

Sarasota, Florida – The JellyTank has scored a huge success on Kickstarter, chalking up a staggering pre-sales total of over $188k to date. The JellyTank is a 5-gallon Nano aquarium designed to create the most suitable environment for Jellyfish while providing a budget-friendly and low-maintenance desktop aquarium for jellyfish owners.

With over a thousand backers on Kickstarter, the JellyTank is quickly turning heads and stands as one of the most innovative and affordable jellyfish aquariums to date

Brock and Blake Gratton, the developers of the JellyTank, launched the Kickstarter campaign on February 7th with an initial goal of $25,000. In their relentless pursuit of success, the twin brothers managed to hit their target within only three days and pre-sold over 1,000 JellyTanks at over $188,000.

“With the support and help from everyone, we officially hit our goal within 72 hours of launch and was able to presell over $188,000 worth of JellyTanks,” said Blake and Brock Gratton, Co-Creators. “We’re working hard to get all the moving parts of manufacturing underway while successfully assembling an aquaculture facility. We’ve aligned ourselves with expert marine biologists while building relationships and partnerships within the industry.”

“We had no idea we would achieve this with our Kickstarter campaign, but hope to continue the same successful results on Indiegogo’s Indemand platform until we have product to sell,” the Grottons added.

With over a thousand backers on Kickstarter, the JellyTank is quickly turning heads and stands as one of the most innovative and affordable jellyfish aquariums to date. It has also received positive reviews by people in the marine and tech industries and has been featured on popular websites such as Dude I Want That, Aquanerd, Advanced Aquarist, Trend Hunter, and The Awesomer, among many more.

At present, the manufacturing of the JellyTanks is in full effect. Plans are currently underway to kickstart the delivery of the tanks at the end of July with jellyfish deliveries shortly after. Also in the works is a recently launched Indiegogo InDemand campaign which is set to further expand the reach of the JellyTank and help maximize exposure.

The twin brothers are currently on a mission to developing their stretch goals and hope to successfully manufacture and deliver nothing short of high-quality and fully-functional products in the coming weeks. Go to the Indiegogo InDemand campaign if you’d like to pledge or visit jellytank.com for the opportunity to learn more about the company.

Blake and Brock are both successful entrepreneurs with a strong passion for business and family. They graduated from the Florida State University in 2004 with majors in Economics and later became mortgage loan officers for four years until the real estate market came crashing down.

“We’ve always had a yearning for entrepreneurship, as teenagers we created our first company called B&B Stringing where we would string tennis racquets,” Blake Gratton added.

Facebook Rolls Out Crowdfunding Platform for Education, Medical, Pets, Crisis Relief, Personal Loss, Sports and Community Needs

24 May

However, with a crowdfunding platform commission fee of  6.9% + 30 cents per credit card transaction fee Facebook’s Fundraiser Service will be considerably more expensive than competitors such as GoFundMe, Indiegogo and Kickstarter

By Robert Hoskins

Menlo Park, California – Facebook is a place where people come together to connect with their communities and support one another in meaningful ways. Today, we are giving people another way to mobilize around causes they care about by expanding personal fundraisers to everyone over 18 in the US and by adding two new categories – community and sports.

Facebook Rolls Out Crowdfunding Platform and Fundraiser Service for Education, Medical, Pets, Crisis Relief, Personal Loss, Sports and Community Needs

Facebook Rolls Out Crowdfunding Platform and Fundraiser Service for Education, Medical, Pets, Crisis Relief, Personal Loss, Sports and Community Needs

Facebook began testing personal fundraisers, a new product that allows people to raise money for a friend, themselves or a sick pet directly on Facebook, in March. Since then, they’ve been inspired by the response to create them and the support felt by those they benefit.

People can create a fundraiser to quickly raise money on Facebook and easily reach their friends in a few taps, without leaving Facebook, and can share fundraisers to help build momentum. People can learn about the person who created the fundraiser and the person benefiting from the fundraiser, as well as see which friends have donated. Now people can raise money for any of the following categories:

  • Education: such as tuition, books or classroom supplies
  • Medical: such as medical procedures, treatments or injuries
  • Pet Medical: such as veterinary procedures, treatments or injuries
  • Crisis Relief: such as public crises or natural disasters
  • Personal Emergency: such as a house fire, theft or car accident
  • Funeral and Loss: such as burial expenses or living costs after losing a loved one
  • Sports: such as equipment, competitions or team fees
  • Community: such as neighborhood services, community improvements or environmental improvements

Nonprofit fundraisers continue to be available for people on Facebook to raise funds and awareness for 501(c)(3) nonprofits.

It’s easy to get started:

  1. On mobile, tap the menu icon and select Fundraisers, or on desktop, go to facebook.com/fundraisers
  2. Choose to raise money for a Friend, Yourself or Someone or Something Not on Facebook
  3. Give your fundraiser a title and compelling story, and start raising money

All fundraisers are reviewed within 24 hours. Personal fundraisers are available on all devices, and have a 6.9% Facebook commission fee + $0.30 fee that goes to payment processing, fundraiser vetting, and security and fraud protection. Facebook’s goal is to create a platform for good that’s sustainable over the long-term, and not to make a profit from our charitable giving tools.

We’re constantly inspired by the good people on Facebook do, and we’re excited to learn more about how people use this new product so we can continue improving the experience.

Find out more about Facebook fundraisers at facebook.com/fundraisers.

GlowThrow Launches Exciting Kickstarter Crowdfunding Campaign to Fund New Glow-in-the-Dark Fetch Game for Playing with Dogs at Night

17 May

Australian Company GlowThrow Begins Much-Awaited Kickstarter Crowdfunding Campaign in the Pet Niche for Innovative Glow-in-the-Dark Ball Launcher Product

By Robert Hoskins

Melbourne, AustraliaGlowThrow, a Melbourne-based company which has developed an ingenious pet-friendly product featuring the latest technology, has confirmed that it has launched a crowdfunding campaign on the global Kickstarter platform to help get its original provisional patent pending glow-in-the-dark fetch game for dogs off the ground. It is hoped that pet owners will be able to spend much more quality time with their dogs as the product can easily be used at night. Its target market is dog owners who get home after dark and people who happen to live in areas that get far less natural sunlight during the day, especially in winter.

GlowThrow is the world's only pet-friendly designed glow-in-the-dark fetch game for playing fetch at night

GlowThrow is the world’s best pet-friendly glow-in-the-dark fetch game for playing with dogs at night

A 12-month labour of love has seen the GlowThrow developed and tested by a pet-centric lighting industry professional with a 7-year-old white colored Whippet named Chicken who enjoys night time walks. Lachlan Scott is a heavy industrial mining lighting expert who earned his Degree from Swinburne University of Technology, Melbourne.

In the business world, he was a former Project Development Engineer and Sales Manager for a global lighting industry giant recording annual sales of $8.98 billion AUD per year. Importantly, with overall pet wellbeing and safety in mind, GlowThrow features a powerful inbuilt LED to charge the glow-in-the-dark ball whereby the LED and battery are located within the launcher rather than the ball – eliminating the risk of dogs accidentally eating the electronics while playing fetch. What’s more, GlowThrow’s unique design allows for a sustainable bright glow experience during every walk as the LED charges the Phosphor.

“I work long hours and there can be so much emotion wrapped up in this as a dog owner. I felt so guilty working late. Our Whippet named Chicken really has a way of tugging at your heart strings. I think it must be the same for every pet owner who also finds themselves in our situation,” expressed Lachlan Scott, Director, GlowThrow. “Now, the GlowThrow allows my girlfriend and me to get the most out of walks with Chicken – no matter what time we both can get home at. It has helped to nurture the bond that we have with our dog who feels so much like a part of the family. I guess a lot of people can relate to our story.”

Currently, with 2 staff and multiple outside contractors, GlowThrow solves a natural light problem for people who work long hours and often get home as the sun is setting or when it is already dark. Lachlan Scott also observed a major natural light issue when he lived in Vienna, Austria for 2 years. In the Northern Hemisphere, the sun sets at 4 pm in winter.

Interestingly, from a quality of life standpoint, earlier this month, the Austrian capital was named the best city in the world to live in for the 8th year in a row. GlowThrow is committed to improving the quality of life for pet owners and dogs.

In November 2016, the GlowThrow team filed for provisional patent pending with the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO). The immediate goal is to complete a successful crowdfunding campaign and fulfil as many orders as possible with Kickstarter traction to get the product to backers. The vision for the business is to have GlowThrow stocked in as many pet shops as possible.

Every GlowThrow features:

  • High powered LED light built neatly into the head of the launcher.
  • Super bright glow-in-the-dark ball for maximum visibility.
  • A fortnight of daily night-time dog walks from a fully charged 1200m Ah Li-Ion rechargeable battery.
  • Micro USB charger port to charge the battery.
  • Exceptional ergonomic handle with over moulded rubber for secure grip comfort.
  • Flexible neck for long throws.
  • LED light doubles as an illuminating torch when not charging the glow-in-the-dark ball.

GlowThrow is the world’s only pet-friendly designed glow-in-the-dark fetch game for dogs that gives you the ability to keep the ball glowing super brightly while you effortlessly play fetch at night. To see GlowThrow in action at night visit: http://www.glowthrow.com/

New Reality TV Crowdfunding Platform Allows Talk Shows and Reality TV Programs to Fund Their Programming

30 Dec

New CrowdedReality.com crowdfunding platform gives reality TV and talk show producers a chance to crowdfund their passion for programming

By Robert Hoskins

Reno, Nevada – CrowdedReality.com, created by award winning producer Adryenn Ashley, is a new crowdfunding site that allows programming creators three ways to crowdfund their shows through a system designed to reveal the reach of new shows, and to incite competition for the opportunity to sponsor or air each show.

Dog Rescue Club App and Reality TV Show

Dog Rescue Club App and Reality TV Show

Traditionally television programming has been kept under lock and key, with many too many gatekeepers along the way, which prevents truly independent television from ever flourishing. That’s about to change and be completely reinvented.  Independent films, reality TV shows and other types of entertainment can now raise money directly from fans to support the production of their programming concepts.

As Ashley explains, “Over the past year we have developed relationships with over 200 brands and in discussing sponsorship needs and wants, one topic kept repeating – they wanted to know, to quantify, the social reach potential. For every new show, that’s always going to be just a best guess. Until now.” With algorithmic triggers that alert pre-screened and “vetted” sponsors, the site interacts with and introduces show-specific sponsors even before the funding cycle is complete.

Using a factor called Social Currency, tied to proprietary back end tools, CrowdedReality.com can calculate the reach and value to a sponsor and the demographic most interested in a show. This feature encourages sponsors to take action and secure their position with the show to leverage the social currency the show has built and gives potential sponsors the certainty they are looking for when choosing where to invest their marketing dollars, while leaving creative control in the hands of the show creators.

Less than a week old, CrowdedReality.com has already attracted shows from all over the country and across . The Dog Rescue Club, The Sifu: Kung Fu Redemption and The Fab Lab have all jumped on board to be the first to leverage the platform. Even veteran Reality TV star Justine Tranchita from Game of Pawns is using to launch his new spin off show, “The Branson Family”.

With a keen eye for bringing shows to life that would otherwise be shelved, CrowdedReality.com is ripe to become the foremost destination for niche content discovery.

“I wanted to create a show that will truly honor the shift in our consciousness and our desire for all things good. To do that I needed to bring across guests and products in a conversational format that bridges the New Mainstream into the Existing Mainstream. I couldn’t do that if I didn’t have creative control of the show,” say Lisa Marie, Co-Creator of Wake Up! “Here I can prove to the most conservative sponsor the viability of both the show and audience through Social Currency.”

Crowdedreality.com is indeed an evidence of the times. Social voting until now has been interruptive, or a picture within a picture for TV. An after thought. A thirty minute reel after a show runs. “We are putting the value Social Currency front and center. This is the new power in entertainment. CrowdedReality.com both helps protect the creator with their creation, giving direct access – and helps protect a sponsor or distributor with their pre-valuation of a show, reducing risk.”

And from veteran Radio and TV Crowdfunding Expert Mike Hayes, “This changes everything! CrowdedReality.com is a smart, innovative funding model that finally has found that magic in leveraging real social campaigning. Unique to this model created by the media marvel Adryenn Ashley – people are able to create social campaigns that not only support the show, bring visitors, and donors – but they add a critical piece of voting with their Social Currency – CrowdedReality.com removes the historic blocks to funding.”

And industry leaders have noticed. Across the pond in the UK, Carlo Cocuzzi, UK Business Growth Strategist was the first to suggest a UK version of the site, “CrowdedReality.com is an absolute game changer.”

Los Angeles, CA – After receiving strong customer demand for its Stun Canes, Big Sticks and Pet Defenders, Arc Angel (www.aastuncane.com) is now building out its sales and distribution channel network and plans to place its first large manufacturing production run earlier than expected. To secure better pricing for its distribution partners, Arc Angel is now offering up to 50% discounts for a limited time to retailers/dealers, resellers and distributors who are willing to place orders now to help increase Arc Angel’s volume for its first large manufacturing production run. Larger order quantities will achieve better volume production discounts and provide more margin for Arc Angel’s channel partners.

Arc Angel Stun Canes, Stun Sticks and Tactical Stun Guns offer a Non-Lethal Self Defense Weapon for Consumers and Law Enforcement Agencies

“Arc Angel Stun Canes and Pet Defenders are manufactured with rugged, industrial-strength, aircraft aluminum form factors, long-lasting NiMh batteries and are manufactured to compete directly against the Taser Stun Gun as an affordable, non-lethal force option for law enforcement agencies,” said Glenn Willey, Arc Angel’s CEO. “Our products are built to last with intense daily use, not just by consumers, but by large professional security forces with brute strength requirements.”

“Right now Stun Canes, Big Sticks and Pet Defenders are marketed to consumers seeking self-protection options,” Willey continued. “But soon Arc Angel will be introducing a new line of Tactical Stun Devices (TSDs) that will target police, military, emergency first defenders, federal government, homeland security and other types of tactical security/law enforcement agencies that will benefit from using non-lethal force as an alternative to loaded firearms in order to avoid wrongful death lawsuits like the Darren Wilson/Michael Brown ordeal in Ferguson, Missouri when possible.”

If Darren Wilson had been carry a Tactical Stun Gun instead of a gun, Michael Brown might still be alive.

All channel partners that sign up to participate in Arc Angel Channel Marketing Program will receive a special preview briefing on the new TSD product line after signing a NDA. They also will be allowed to participate in bringing this product to market in an upcoming Indiegogo crowdfunding campaign, which will be supported by a nationwide advertising, PR and social media cooperative marketing campaign.

Tactical Stun Gun Channel Marketing Partners Wanted:

  • Self Defense Ecommerce Sites – Arc Angel seeks eCommerce centers, online stores and blogs that sell self defense stun guns, Tasers, tactical weapons, police gear and/or uniforms to resell its products.
  • Tactical Gear Retailers, Gun Dealers, Stores – Arc Angel seeks retailers and dealers that sell stun guns, Tasers, tactical weapons, law enforcement gear and/or uniforms to stock its tactical stun gun and self defense products.
  • Non-Lethal Self Defense Franchises – Arc Angel seeks franchisors/franchisees that would like to add Arc Angel’s Stun Canes, Pet Defenders and Tactical Stun Devices to their franchise’s self-defense product portfolio.

Dogological Indiegogo Campaign Strives to Save Dogs’ Lives and Teach Abused Children How to Love

1 Apr

DVD program teaches dog owners to train their dogs from the dog’s point of view and will help them tap into their dog’s natural intelligence and desire to please

By Brad Jaffe, Owner and Founder, Dogological

Dogological uses a compassionate, simple and psychological approach to training dogs by empowering dog owners through teaching from the dog’s point of view. In February, we started our Indiegogo crowdfunding campaign, in partnership with Gabriel’s Angels, a non-profit organization whose mission is to deliver the power of healing through pet therapy to neglected and at-risk children, nurturing their emotional development and enhancing the quality of their lives.

Gabriel’s Angels to expand their wonderful work with at-risk children by adding more therapy dog teams to serve an additional 10,000 children in Arizona

Gabriel’s Angels expanding wonderful work with at-risk children by adding more therapy dog teams to serve an additional 10,000 children in Arizona

We’ve been fortunate to have over 50 backers donate a little under $6,000 thus far and we recently announced the extension of the campaign to April 13 at 11:59 p.m. PDT. We’d like to thank our current funders and we look forward to the new support we will be receiving in the next couple weeks.

The funds received from the campaign will make the Dogological dog teaching program available to dog owners worldwide by helping with the production costs of the Dog Teaching Method At-home Program DVD set.

The 6-set DVD program will teach dog owners to train their dogs from the dog’s point of view and will help them tap into their dog’s natural intelligence and desire to please. This non-confrontational method is a contrast to today’s well-known pack-leader dominance models.

For a sneak peek into what the program will offer, see these previews for walking your dog and teaching your dog how to sit.

In addition to contributing to the creation of Dogological’s program that instructs how to have well-mannered dogs through compassionate and simple teaching techniques, a portion of the funding will also be donated directly to the expansion of Gabriel’s Angels’ non-profit pet therapy program, to meet the needs of over 13,000 abused, neglected and at-risk children in the Arizona area looking for empathy, love and trust that only therapy dogs can provide. These therapy dog visits have proven to provide children with unconditional love and teach core-behaviors.

The Humane Society estimates that 2.7 million adoptable cats and dogs are euthanized each year and lack of training has been identified as one of the factors that leads to euthanization. We believe that if dog owners can easily access affordable dog training methods, dogs can be kept out of shelters and these numbers can be lowered.

Over the past 15 years, Dogological has worked with over 6,500 owners and their dogs, including a number of dogs that now serve as therapy dogs at Gabriel’s Angels. We have perfected a program for communicating with dogs in a way that they understand. My goal is to be able to make the Dogological method easily available to anyone and everyone that wants to have a well-mannered dog while preserving a great mutually beneficial relationship together.

The campaign is also supporting the expansion of Gabriel’s Angels because we have tightly aligned missions. Gabriel’s Angels helps heal and nurture children that have been exposed to abuse, neglect, and abandonment through the gentle loving presence of therapy dogs, while Dogological helps to prevent dogs from being exposed to harsh and abusive methods. Just as children never deserve to be hit, intimidated or humiliated, neither do dogs.

With your contribution you are helping to empower dog lovers all over the world with the information, skills, and knowledge to teach their dogs through gentle, loving techniques and prevent many dogs from being relinquished or euthanized due to “so called” undesirable behavior. The icing on the cake is helping more children to find relief from trauma or sadness through the unconditional love of a Gabriel’s Angels therapy dog.

Crowdfunding Platform Crowd Supply Adds Value-Added Fulfillment Services for Successful Fundraising Campaigns

26 Mar

By Robert Hoskins

Crowd Supply is publicly launching the first marketplace that supports project creators from crowdfunding through product delivery. In addition to hosting crowdfunding campaigns, Crowd Supply offers the management of pre-orders, warehouse fulfillment and ship-from-stock e-commerce. Founded by a team of highly experienced engineers and product developers, the company welcomes a wide range of design and technology projects and stands ready to help creators in ways that other crowdfunding sites do not.

Crowd Supply

Crowd Supply Adds Value-Added Fulfillment Services for Successful Fundraising Campaigns

“Everything about Crowd Supply is different from other crowdfunding plaforms,” said Lou Doctor, co-founder and CEO of Crowd Supply. “By teaming up with project creators for long-term success, Crowd Supply is ushering in a new generation of exciting products and businesses. Our pre-approval support process enables creators to speak and work directly with experienced engineers and product designers to improve the quality of their business plans and schedules. After crowdfunding, our pre-order and fulfillment services allow project creators to focus on their designs and future projects instead of packing and shipping boxes. The net result is a better experience for consumers, an easier time for project creators, and new businesses that have the foundation they need in order to succeed in the long run.”

Concept-to-Commerce Support

Rather than treating the crowdfunding of a project as a single, one-time event, Crowd Supply supports creators with the critical services they need in order to successfully deliver their products into the hands of their customers:

  • In the pre-approval phase, Crowd Supply partners with creators from the moment they submit their project, providing actionable feedback from its experienced engineers, entrepreneurs and marketing professionals.
  • Once a project is approved, a minimum funding goal is established and a production delivery schedule is agreed upon, Crowd Supply hosts the cross-platform campaign (mobile, tablet, desktop) to gather pledges.
  • As soon as the minimum funding goal is reached, backers’ funds are made available to the project creator, as much as six to eight weeks sooner than other platforms. In this way, Crowd Supply gives creators a head start on their development schedules to improve the odds that backer expectations will be met.
  • Post-crowdfunding, the project’s campaign page on Crowd Supply converts to a ‘pre-order page’ for consumers who wish to receive an early delivery of the product. Creators determine retail pricing and an estimated ship date, and this is accurately communicated to potential pre-order customers.
  • Once the project becomes a finished, manufactured product, Crowd Supply becomes an e-commerce reseller. Customers can order these recently crowdfunded products for same-day shipment.

Crowdfunding Growth Creates New Opportunities

Crowdfunding continues its dramatic upward trajectory, with annual totals expected to reach $6 billion in 2013, more than double the amount raised in 2012. The challenge of raising money is largely solved, but after funding is acquired, a project creator must transform an idea or prototype into a tangible, manufactured product, and ultimately into a sustainable business. Companies that can capitalize on the early interest generated from backers and consumers are at a distinct advantage, since a product’s highest rate of revenue growth occurs immediately after it exits the research and development stage.

With Kickstarter and other crowdfunding platforms, creators who are fully funded often must figure out a way to accept pre-orders, then create their own e-commerce stores, and finally pack and ship potentially thousands of items, all with mixed results.

“Few people realize just how hard it is to produce and deliver a finished product, even if there’s sufficient funding,” said Jim Clark, inventor of the Reactor — a revolutionary iPhone case that incorporates an ultra-thin generator to manually charge the iPhone’s battery — currently being crowdfunded on Crowd Supply. “Creative people need a long-term relationship with talented partners in manufacturing, engineering, distribution and sales, so that they can focus on their projects and let experts help execute on the other pieces of the puzzle. I did a successful Kickstarter project last year and along the way learned just how ‘on your own’ Kickstarter can make you feel. I really like what Crowd Supply offers in the way of support to entrepreneurs like me. What Kickstarter started, Crowd Supply now finishes.”

“I like to build things, and I like to ride my bike,” said Patrick Croasdaile, Project Manager at Bike Soles. “We chose to launch our new LIT tire project with Crowd Supply because we wanted urban cycling enthusiasts and commuters to see our new tires and back our campaign. Crowdfunding will enable us to bring our superior tire to market while Crowd Supply’s fulfillment service spares us from being bogged down with packing and shipping of individual orders. Their support for early-stage businesses like ours allows us to focus more of our energy on our new products.”

Cycling and eco-friendly transportation is currently a popular project category on Crowd Supply. Asylum Cycles, which is launching a full-carbon cyclocross bike called the Asylum Meuse, joins Bike Soles among the many promising creators in this category.

Unlike Kickstarter, Crowd Supply doesn’t arbitrarily exclude categories. Pet products, for example, are forbidden on Kickstarter, but Crowd Supply welcomes them. The Rollo, a versatile new dog collar with an integrated leash, is the first of many pet products that Crowd Supply is proud to feature.

“Rollo introduces an innovative product to the pet category that provides dogs and their owners with newfound freedom,” said Tony Lord, co-founder and creator of Rollo Pet Company. “We see Crowd Supply as a great partner for bringing this product to market.”
